Armadale Railway Station

(Armadal)

Armadale Railway Station lies on the North Clyde Line, on the southern edge of Armadale in West Lothian, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) southeast of Bathville. This station opened in 1862 on the Bathgate and Coatbridge Railway which became part of the North British Railway three years later. The station closed in 1956, but was re-opened as part of the Airdrie-Bathgate Link in 2010. Now operated by ScotRail and referred to as Armadal in Gaelic, Armadale Station is unstaffed and was used by almost 240,000 passengers per annum in 2016. It is preceded by Bathgate Railway Station, 2½ miles (4 km) to the east northeast, and followed by Blackridge, 2¾ miles (4.5 km) to the west.
