Millport Helipad


(Millport Helicopter Landing Site)

A helicopter landing site located on the shore, a half-mile (0.8 km southwest of the centre of Millport in North Ayrshire, Millport Helipad provides an evacuation point for residents of Great Cumbrae following medical emergency. The site was opened on the 29th April 2016 by David Garbutt, Chairman of the Scottish Ambulance Service. It had been built with a bequest from the late Effie and Walter Kerr of Millport. Incoming helicopters can activate the landing lights remotely.
