A public park located to the south of Arbroath Road in West Ferry (Dundee City), Dawson Park includes sports facilities, a children's play area, areas of open parkland, tree-lined walkways, a formal cherry avenue, which is particularly stunning in spring, feature plantings, a sunken garden and is the location of Duntrune Community Garden.
Dawson Park opened in the 1950s on land purchased from the Douglas and Angus Estate in 1949 and extends to 18.7 ha (46.2 acres). It was funded through a bequest by William Dawson of Broughty Ferry in 1940 "for the purpose of providing playing fields, sports grounds or other recreational facilities". Dawson had been a Director of wine and spirit merchant George Morton and Company of Dock Street, Dundee.
The park remains a focus for sport in the East end of the city, with five football pitches, a rugby union pitch, an American football pitch, tennis and basketball courts, athletics facilities, a bowling club and changing facilities. A new all-weather floodlit pitch was opened in 2006. These facilities are used by the nearby Grove Academy.
