Garnock Viaduct

Located on the northern edge of Kilwinning in North Ayrshire, the Garnock Viaduct lies a half-mile (1 km) north of the town centre. Built in 1888 to carry the Lanarkshire & Ayrshire Railway across the River Garnock, this massive seven-arch masonry structure has lain unused since the line closed in 1953. Each arch is 15m (50 feet) in length, giving the viaduct a total length of 122m (400 feet) and a height of 25m (82 feet).
