Coltbridge Viaduct

A tall three-arch viaduct which crosses the Water of Leith to the north of Roseburn in West Edinburgh, 1¼ miles (2 km) west of the city centre. It opened in 1861 to carry the Granton Branch of Caledonian Railway. This line closed in 1962 but the bridge remains in use now carrying the North Edinburgh Cycleway. This route has been proposed for the western section of the northern loop of the Edinburgh Tram Line (Phase 1b).
