Dams to Darnley Country Park

A country park that crosses the boundary between East Renfrewshire and Glasgow City, Dams to Darnley represents an area of green space between the towns of Barrhead and Newton Mearns, and the Glasgow suburbs of Darnley, Parkhouse and Southpark Village. To the south are the five Barrhead dams; namely Balgray Reservoir, Coalhill Reservoir, Littleton Reservoir, Ryat Linn Reservoir and Waulkmill Glen Reservoir. Designated in 2000 to protect an area of green belt which was being eroded, the park extends to 546 ha (1350 acres).

The park aims to provide recreational activities for local residents and visitors through a network of paths for walking, cycling, orienteering, fishing and horse riding, with further facilities intended for the future.
