Clovenstone

A small residential district in SW Edinburgh, Clovenstone forms part of Wester Hailes, 4½ miles (7 km) southwest of the city centre. The area now comprises a mix of social and private housing, but began as a public housing scheme in the early 1970s Clovenstone Community Centre was built in 1975. Clovenstone Primary School opened in the same year and now has a roll of around 280 children (2019). Clovenstone House is a local authority-owned residential care home. The 1.3-ha / 3.3-acre Clovenstone Community Woodland is also managed by the City of Edinburgh Council, while the Clovie Community Garden is a neighbourhood garden project that began in 2016. Clovenstone represents the western terminus of the 3 and 30 routes of Lothian Buses.
