(Drumbrydon)

A residential and industrial district of SW Edinburgh, Drumbryden lies between Murrayburn and Hailes Quarry Park, to the north of the Union Canal and 3¾ miles (6 km) southwest of the city centre. Housing was constructed on the land surrounding the former Drumbrydon Farm [ sic ] between 1967 and 1969 as the first section of the Wester Hailes development. Housing principally comprises four-storey semi-detached flatted blocks with open entrance star towers, together with a few single-storey semi-detached cottages intended for elderly and disabled residents. Redevelopment has taken place, with new blocks of affordable housing built 2018-20. Drumbryden Industrial Estate and Drumbryden Allotments lie to the south.
