A residential district of Penicuik in Midlothian, Deanburn lies a mile (1.6 km) north of the town centre and was built to provide public housing in the 1970s, although most properties have been sold under right-to-buy legislation. The only council-owned allotments in Midlothian are located here. The Dean Burn descends to the southeast to meet the Cuiken Burn.
