An Socach

Located west of Cannich in the Skye and Lochalsh district of Highland Council Area, An Socach is a particularly isolated mountain peak, with the main access to the summit being via a continuation westward from its neighbour An Riabhachan. The summit ridge encloses a Corrie, Coire Mham, and the summit, which is marked by an Ordnance Survey triangulation pillar, is located almost in the middle of this ridge, reaching 1069m (3507 feet) and gaining qualification as a Munro. The name An Socach, originates from Gaelic and means "the snout". There is another An Socach situated 6 miles (10 km) to the south.
