Brownmuir Hill

(Brimmer Hill)

Brownmuir (or Brimmer) Hill is located in the extreme NE of North Ayrshire, on the border with Renfrewshire, 2¼ miles (3.5 km) northeast of Beith. Rising to 201m (659 feet), it once had a transmitter mast on the summit and a small building remains. There was once also an Ordnance Survey triangulation pillar here. On its southeastern slopes are the remains of a whinstone quarry and a gravel pit.
