Cranhill Park

Located to the north of the A8 dual carriageway in E Glasgow, Cranhill Park lies 3 miles (5 km) east of the city centre. Opened in 1961, it now includes Cranhill Community Centre, the Cranhill Beacon, a play centre for 5 - 12 year olds, together with a basketball court and skatepark.

Remarkably, Cranhill Park has perhaps the highest density of water vole anywhere in the UK, but the population is unusual; they are fossorial, having given up living by water to burrow underground in grassland.
