Braes of Rannoch Parish Church

A remotely-located place of worship in N Perth and Kinross, Braes of Rannoch Parish Church lies a quarter-mile (0.5 km) east of Bridge of Gaur. Built in 1907, by noted church architect Peter MacGregor Chalmers (1859 - 1922), this is at least the third church to have been constructed in the vicinity. The ball-finialled bellcote seems to have been moved from a church built nearby in 1776 to one built on the present site in 1855 and hence to the present structure. The interior is a delightful composition in coursed granite rubble and wood, with an unusual semi-circular apse. The organ is by Rothwell and dates from 1935, but was re-located here from Urquhart Church near Elgin in 1991.

Munroist Rev A. E. Robertson (1870 - 1958) was the minister here between 1907 and 1920.
