Woodhouselee Tunnel

The easternmost of a pair of railway tunnels on the course of the former Penicuik Railway in Midlothian, the Woodhouselee Tunnel is located a half-mile (0.4 km) south southeast of Auchendinny, between the site of the former Dalmore Paper Mill (now redeveloped as housing) and the Firth Viaduct. It is 100m (328 feet) in length. Opened in 1872, the Penicuik Railway was a single-track branch of the Edinburgh-Peebles Railway. The former railway is now the route of the Penicuik-Dalkeith Walkway.
