Firhill Stadium

The home ground of Partick Thistle Football Club, Firhill is located in Firhill Road on the north side of the City of Glasgow within the area known of Firhill. The Forth and Clyde canal runs to the north.

The team was formed in 1876 in the Partick district of the city and had several homes before moving to Firhill in 1909. Two dates stand out in the club's history; namely 1921 when Partick Thistle defeated Rangers to win the Scottish Cup and 1971 when the club beat Celtic by a remarkable 4-0 to win the League Cup. The team which took this latter victory included such notable players as Alan Rough and Alan Hansen.
