Glengloy, a deep mountain glen in Kilmonivaig parish, Inverness-shire. From a col (1172 feet) it extends 7 miles south-westward between Glenroy and the Great Glen, parallel to both, and then, deflecting suddenly to a right angle with its former direction, descends 1 3/8 mile northward to the Great Glen at Loch Lochy, at a point 3 ½ miles NE of the loch's foot. A terrace line runs along the glen's flank at an elevation of from 1156 to 1173 feet above sea-level, being 12 feet higher than the highest of the ancient water margins or 'parallel roads' of Glenroy.Ord.
