Parish of Lochalsh

Lochalsh is a coastal parish, which lies in Highland Council Area, some 28 miles (45 km) south of Gairloch and 29 miles (47 km) east of Portree in Highland and includes 3 small offshore islands.

It is located in the old county of Ross and Cromarty, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 205 sq. km (79.1 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Kyle of Lochalsh. Lochalsh has 4 neighbouring parishes; namely Kilmorack, Kintail, Lochcarron and Urray.
