Parish of Scone

Scone is a parish, which lies on the River Tay in Perth and Kinross Council Area, some 3 miles (4 km) north of Perth in Perth and Kinross and 9 miles (14 km) northwest of Newburgh in Fife.

It is located in the old county of Perthshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 28.4 sq. km (10.9 sq. miles). Scone has 5 neighbouring parishes; namely Kilspindie, Kinnoull, Redgorton, St Martins and Tibbermore. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889 and again by the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1894.
