Parish of Perth

Perth is a small parish, which lies on the River Tay in Perth and Kinross Council Area, some 8 miles (13 km) west of Newburgh in Fife and 12 miles (19 km) northeast of Auchterarder in Perth and Kinross.

It is located in the old county of Perthshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 10.4 sq. km (4 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Perth. Perth has 6 neighbouring parishes; namely Aberdalgie, Dunbarney, Forgandenny, Kinnoull, Rhynd and Tibbermore. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
