Parish of Glassary

Glassary is a coastal parish, which lies in Argyll and Bute Council Area, some 18 miles (29 km) north of Tarbert and 21 miles (33 km) northwest of Dunoon in Argyll and Bute.

It is located in the old county of Argyllshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 253.2 sq. km (97.7 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Lochgilphead. Glassary has 5 neighbouring parishes; namely Inveraray, Kilchrenan & Dalavich, Kilmartin, North Knapdale and South Knapdale.
