Parish of St Ninians

St Ninians is a parish, which lies on the River Forth in Stirling Council Area, some 3 miles (5 km) southwest of Stirling in Stirling and 7 miles (12 km) west of Alloa in Clackmannanshire.

It is located in the old county of Stirlingshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 153.1 sq. km (59.1 sq. miles). St Ninians has 9 neighbouring parishes; namely Airth, Denny, Dunipace, Fintry, Gargunnock, Kilsyth, Kincardine, Larbert and Stirling. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889 and again by the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1894.
