Prestonkirk is a parish, which lies in East Lothian Council Area, some 5 miles (7 km) northeast of Haddington and 12 miles (19 km) east of Prestonpans in East Lothian.
It is located in the old county of East Lothian, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.
The parish has an area of 28.7 sq. km (11 sq. miles). Prestonkirk has 9 neighbouring parishes; namely Athelstaneford, Dirleton, Dunbar, Haddington, Morham, North Berwick, Stenton, Whitekirk & Tyninghame and Whittingehame. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
