Parish of Humbie

Humbie is a parish, which lies in East Lothian Council Area, some 7 miles (12 km) south of Haddington and 9 miles (14 km) southeast of Prestonpans in East Lothian.

It is located in the old county of East Lothian, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 35.6 sq. km (13.7 sq. miles). Humbie has 8 neighbouring parishes; namely Bolton, Channelkirk, Cranston, Crichton, Fala & Soutra, Ormiston, Saltoun and Yester. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
