Parish of St Boswells

St Boswells is a small parish, which lies in the Scottish Borders Council Area, some 3 miles (6 km) southeast of Melrose and 7 miles (12 km) northwest of Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders.

It is located in the old county of Roxburghshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 14.2 sq. km (5.5 sq. miles). St Boswells has 5 neighbouring parishes; namely Ancrum, Bowden, Maxton, Melrose and Mertoun. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
