Neil Primrose


1972 -

Musician. Born in Cumbernauld (North Lanarkshire), Primrose studied computing at the College of Commerce in Glasgow. He worked at the Horseshoe Bar in the city centre, where he met Fran Healy (b.1973), Dougie Payne (b.1972) and Andy Dunlop (b.1972) and together they formed the rock band Glass Onion, which soon became Travis. Primrose played drums and the band went on to sell more than eight million records world-wide and headlined many of the major rock festivals in the UK. Their albums include Good Feeling (1997), The Man Who (1999), The Invisible Band (2001) and 12 Memories (2003), all of which entered the Top 10 in the UK, with two reaching No. 1.

In 2002, Primrose suffered a spinal injury in a swimming pool accident while on holiday in France. He subsequently underwent surgery and a long period of recovery.
