Television presenter, journalist and consumer champion. Born in Glasgow, Faulds-Wood was brought up at Auchendennan on the western shore of Loch Lomond (Argyll and Bute). She began her career as a secondary school-teacher in London but became an investigative journalist when she met her husband, John Stapleton, presenter of Nationwide and GMTV. Faulds-Wood wrote for various magazines and newspapers such as the Daily Mail and the Sun, before moving to television. There she hosted consumer segments on TV-am and BBC Breakfast Time and went on to co-host Watchdog for eight years, with her husband. In 1991, at the height of her career, she was diagnosed with bowel cancer but, having survived, she now campaigns to raise awareness of this disease. She remains involved in consumer programmes for GMTV and made the medical programme Lady Killers in 1994.
Faulds-Wood has received a number of industry awards for her journalism and was given an honorary degree by Glasgow Caledonian University in 2004.
