Online entrepreneur and founder of the Mashable blog. Born in Banchory and educated at Banchory Academy, Cashmore began to blog as a teenager. He founded Mashable in 2005, to focus on up-to-the-minute news on social networks and digital trends. Since then, Mashable quickly grew to become one of the top 10 blogs in the world, and also highly profitable.
Cashmore was named one of Ad Age's 2011 influencers, a Time Magazine 100 in 2010, and a Forbes Magazine Web Celeb. He was also named a Briton of the year by the Telegraph newspaper in 2010 and a World Economic Forum 2011 Young Global Leader. He is now based in New York.
