Swimmer. Born in Balloch (West Dunbartonshire), Murdoch was educated at Balfron High School, and the University of Stirling, where he has been studying sport and exercise science. He followed this with a bronze medal in the 100m breaststroke, again at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre, setting a personal best in that race. He gained three further bronze medals in the 200m breaststroke, 50m breaststroke and the 4 × 100m medley relay at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 2022.
