William Angus


1871 - 1965

Scientist and politician. Born in Aberdeenshire and educated at the University of Aberdeen, Angus was a teacher in Stirling and Haddington and then agricultural lecturer in Glasgow and England before emigrating to Australia in 1904. He became Professor of Agriculture and Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture, with responsibility for fruit, dairy, poultry and veterinary affairs (1906-7). Member of the Australian House of Assembly (1912-21). He died in Adelaide.
