A fishing-oriented sports complex closely associated with a modern green-field housing development, Kingennie Fishings lies a half-mile (1 km) southeast of Wellbank in Angus.
Opened in 2002, the complex consists of four fishing ponds created next to the Buddon Burn, which are regularly stocked with fish, together with the Country House which provides a club-house, tackle-shop, cafe and hospitality suite. Holiday accommodation is provided through lodges and a restored boathouse, originally built in 1855.
The complex hosted the Scottish National Coarse Fishing Championships in 2003 and attracts around 10,000 anglers annually.
