Nostie Bridge Power Station

A small hydro-electric power scheme of the Lochalsh district of Highland council area, the Nostie Bridge power station is located to the west of Nostie, a mile (1.5 km) east of Auchtertyre. Completed in 1948, the station has a generation capacity of 1 megawatt making use of a gross head of water of 149m (488 feet) from the Lochalsh Dam to produce an average of 4 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. Originally built to supply electricity to the isolated community in this area, the scheme is now an integral part of the national electricity supply network.
