Scottish National Croquet Centre

(Meadows Croquet Club)

Situated on Melville Drive at the west end of the Meadows in Edinburgh, the Scottish National Croquet Centre is co-located with the Meadows Croquet Club and officially opened on the 7th June 2003. The club leased the grounds of the former West Meadows Bowling Club in 2000 and, with funding from the City of Edinburgh Council, sportscotland and the lottery, was able to refurbish the pavilion, together with two disused bowling greens to provide three neatly-manicured full-sized croquet lawns. Originally known as the Bush Croquet Club and based at the University of Edinburgh's Bush Estate, near Penicuik in Midlothian, the move to Edinburgh has given the opportunity to develop a national facility capable of holding national and international tournaments and provide a home for the Scottish Croquet Association.
