Burns Monument, Regent Road, Edinburgh

A monument on Calton Road in central Edinburgh, the Burns Monument overlooks the Calton New Burial Ground on the south flank of Calton Hill. The monument was built in 1830 by the architect Thomas Hamilton (1784 - 1858), following the design of his earlier memorial at the bard's birthplace in Alloway (South Ayrshire).
