A modest mansion and estate located 1½ miles (2.5 km) east northeast of Buchlyvie in W Stirling Council Area, Garden House was designed by William Stirling (1772 - 1838) in 1830. The stately cream-harled house comprises a narrow five-bay, two-storey block, with a sunken basement, neat four-column Doric portico and sandstone dressings. This forms the east front of a T-plan with an older three-bay mansion lying behind, which was built c.1750. A single-storey extension was added around 1840. It is B-listed.
Since the 17th century this has been the seat of the Stirlings of Garden, of whom James Stirling (1692 - 1770) became a notable mathematician.
