Glenburn Reservoir

A small reservoir located amongst the Brownside Braes in SE Renfrewshire, Glenburn Reservoir lies to the south of Paisley and 1½ miles (2.5 km) northwest of Barrhead. Retained by an earth embankment dam, its construction began in 1879 and it is the source of the Glen Burn. It is now operated by Scottish Water for the supply of drinking-water and covers an area of 12.5 ha (30 acres).
