Located at Blairs on the southern bank of the River Dee in Aberdeenshire, St. Mary's Chapel is a fine Roman Catholic Church, which was established in association with Blairs College, a former junior seminary which lies adjacent. The gift of a Monsignor Lennon of Liverpool, the foundation stone of the chapel was laid in 1899 and it opened in 1901. The Neo-Gothic building is A-listed for its architectural importance and includes several notable and unique features, such as the fine polychrome marble which lines the walls of the interior and the carved wooden reredos and baldachin, displaying figures of the Evangelists and the Scottish patron saints, Andrew and Margaret.
Once the locus for daily celebrations of the Eucharist by the boys of the College, the chapel continues in use as a parish church and a £¾ million restoration began in 2001, funded by Historic Scotland and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
