(Buccleuch Street Bridge)

A five-arch bridge which crosses the River Nith at Dumfries, the New or Buccleuch Street Bridge was built by Thomas Boyd in 1791-94. It was widened in 1892-93 by James Barbour (1834 - 1912) and Sir William Arrol (1839 - 1913), and refurbished in 1985. The bridge features iron parapets with ornamental claw-footed lamps.
