Inverinate House

A large Tudoresque mansion located at the centre of the straggling village of Inverinate on the north shore of Loch Duich in Highland, Inverinate House was built c.1850 for Sir Alexander Matheson (1805 - 1886) and rebuilt following a fire in 1864. The estate extends to 25,495 ha (63,000 acres). More recently, the house and estate became the property of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai (b.1949). There is a well-known pipe tune named after the house.
