Daill Loch

An H-shaped loch which comprises one of a significant group of reservoirs, known as the Glen Clachaig Feeder Reservoir System, in the Knapdale Forest of Argyll and Bute. These which were built to ensure a good supply of water to the Crinan Canal and were named in 1814 by the engineer Hugh Baird (1770 - 1827). Daill Loch is retained by two earth embankment dams at the northeastern end of each of its arms. It is managed by Scottish Canals.
