Dam at the head of Loch Glascarnoch

Lying adjacent to the A835 road to Ullapool, 14 miles (22 km) northwest of Strathpeffer, Loch Glascarnoch is a man-made reservoir which opened in 1957, forming part of the Conon Hydro-Electric Power Scheme. It has a substantial dam 28m (92 feet) high and 510m (1673 feet) in length.
