Cleaven Dyke

To the north of the River Tay, a half-mile (1 km) northeast of the village of Meikleour, the great bank and flanking ditches of the Cleaven Dyke run for a mile (1.5 km) across the landscape of Perth and Kinross. Once thought to have been a Roman feature associated with the nearby fort at Inchtuthill, this site is now identified as a Neolithic monumental construction dating from the late 5th to the mid-4th millennium BC.
