A little-used railway halt in Carnoustie (Angus), Golf Street Railway Station (known as Sràid a' Ghoilf in Gaelic) is situated a half-mile (1 km) west southwest of the town centre, close to the golf links, and 1½ miles (2.5 km) east of Barry. Opened by British Rail in 1960, it lies on the East Coast Main Line, but is served only by local trains. Now operated by ScotRail, Golf Street Station is unstaffed and is one of the least used stations in Scotland. Inconveniently-timed trains deter commuters and there were less than 100 passengers per annum in 2014. It is preceded by Barry Links Railway Station, a mile (1.5 km) to the west southwest, and followed by Carnoustie, a half-mile (1 km) to the east northeast.
