Ardencaple House

A substantial white-washed farmhouse overlooking the north coast of Seil in Argyll and Bute, Ardencaple House lies a mile (1.8 km) west of Clachan-Seil. It comprises two storeys and an attic, and dates from the 18th century. This was the home of Frances Shand Kydd (1936 - 2004), the former Viscountess Althorp who was the mother of Diana, Princess of Wales. Following her divorce from the future Earl Spencer, Frances married Peter Shand Kydd an the couple settle here in 1969.
