Shotts Railway Station

(Na Seots)

Shotts Railway Station (Gael: Na Seots) is located on the Shotts Line in North Lanarkshire, on the southern edge of the town, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) west southwest of the town centre. It is preceded by Fauldhouse Railway Station, 3 miles (5 km) to the east, and followed by Hartwood, 1½ miles (2.5 km) to the west southwest. Opened by the Caledonian Railway in 1869, Shotts Railway Station is now operated by ScotRail, is staffed part-time and is used by 148,328 passengers per annum (2009-10). There is a park-and-ride facility to the west, built on the site of the former goods yard.
