Breich Railway Station

(Brìch)

A rural railway halt in Central Scotland, Breich (Gael: Brìch) is located on the Shotts Line, a half-mile (1 km) west of the hamlet of Breich and a mile (1.5 km) south southeast of Longridge (West Lothian). It was originally the property of the Caledonian Railway Company and opened in 1869. Now operated by ScotRail, Breich Station is unstaffed and is used by less than 100 passengers in 2013 and 2015, making it the second least used railway station in Scotland, after Barry Links. It is preceded by Addiewell Railway Station, 2¾ miles (4.5 km) to the east northeast, and followed by Fauldhouse, 2¼ miles (3.5 km) to the west.
