The Harbour, St. Abbs and St. Abb's Head beyond

Located a mile (1.5 km) north of St. Abbs and 2 miles (3 km) north of Coldingham in the Scottish Borders is a spectacular coastal feature. Rising 90m (300 feet) from the sea, the cliffs of St. Abb's Head are home to many thousands of coastal birds which nest here from April through to August. A 77-ha (190-acre) National Nature Reserve was designated here in 1983, the area has been declared one of the most important sites for cliff nesting seabirds in South Scotland, whilst the offshore waters are part of Scotland's first marine nature reserve. Just to the west, distance poles indicate a 'measured mile' used by the Admiralty for speed trials.
