Glenfarclas Distillery

Founded in 1837 by Robert Hay, the Glenfarclas Distillery is located a mile (1.5 km) east of Marypark, in the shadow of Ben Rinnes. It was acquired by John Grant in 1865 and remains independent, still owned by the same family. The distillery was rebuilt in 1897 and extended in 1960 and again in 1976. In 1973, Glenfarclas was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to open a dedicated visitor centre, and this features an audio-visual programme.
