Dundee College

Offering a range of diploma, professional, vocational and short training courses, Dundee College has its main campuses on Old Glamis Road, next to the Kingsway, in N Dundee, and on Gardyne Road in West Ferry, acquired from Dundee College of Education after they became part of the University of Dundee in 2001, and refurbished at a cost of £43 million. Formed through the merger of Dundee College of Commerce and Kingsway Technical College in 1985, Dundee College in now the only further and higher education college in Dundee. It currently operates three subsidiary campuses located around the city in Constitution Road, Graham Street and Melrose Terrace, together with a learning centre in the Overgate. The college has more than 23,000 full and part-time students, supported by over 700 staff, with an annual turnover of £28 million.

The specialisms of the college include accounting, art & design, engineering, food, hygiene & nutrition, health & safety, information technology and hospitality, together with the digital and creative industries. The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance was opened on the Kingsway Campus by HM Queen Elizabeth II in 2002, and validates its degrees through the University of Northumbria. Dundee College also offers university access programmes and a horticulture programme which makes extensive use of the University of Dundee's Botanic Garden.

The college is governed by a Board of Management, which includes local educators, business leaders and politicians, and is funded by the Scottish Government through the Scottish Funding Council (SFC).
