A tower house extended into a substantial mansion situated in 15.4 ha (38 acres) of grounds by the Kirtle Water in Dumfries and Galloway, Robgill Tower lies a mile (1.5 km) to the southeast of Kirtlebridge. Most likely built c.1540 by the Irvine family, although some sources quote a date of 1430, the tower was modelled on Bonshaw Tower, but substantially altered and extended in the 19th century. The building was B-listed in 1971. There are fine gardens, while in the grounds there is a fine stable block dating from the later 19th C. and a sizeable walled garden with a large glasshouse. The stable block has gained a swimming pool and there is a large indoor equestrian arena.
