Coul Reservoir

An abandoned and partially-drained reservoir lying to the north of Glenrothes in Fife, Coul Reservoir was built in 1890 to supply water to John Haig's Markinch Distillery, the reservoir was drained when the distillery closed and now comprises a series of ponds which form part of the Coul Den Local Nature Reserve.
